"Beeline" started 4G in Stavropol and Rostov-on-Don
"Vympelcom" brought into commercial operation the LTE networks in Stavropol and Rostov-on-Don
JSC Vympelcom (a brand "Beeline") declares delivery in commercial operation of a network of "the fourth generation" (LTE) in Stavropol and Rostov-on-Don. The network of the FDD LTE standard in the range of 2600 MHz is developed on the radio frequencies received as a result of competition. The covering percent a network 4G of the territory of Stavropol makes today about 85%, in Rostov-on-Don – 62%. The maximum speed of data transmission in the LTE network recorded by technical specialists of the company – more than 70 Mbps, average speed makes 10-20 Mbps.
To use a network of the new standard, the subscriber needs to get the device with support of LTE and USIM (the SIM card working in the LTE network). To get USIM and the necessary equipment subscribers "Beeline" can at eight own offices of the company in Stavropol and thirteen – in Rostov. On sale at offices of service "Beeline" USB modems 4G and a number of mobile devices with support of the LTE networks. Let's remind also that networks 4G provide "seamless" transition from the standard 4G to standards 3G/2G.
At the moment the LTE "Beeline" networks already work in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Astrakhan, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the Republics of Altai, Kalmykia, Ingushetia, Adygea, Chuvashia. In the next months starts will take place Barnaul, Samara, Kazan, the Eagle, Tambov, the Moscow region, the Republics of Mordovia and Khakassia.
"Beeline" continues a series of starts of networks of "the fourth generation" in the cities of Russia. Today we start two strategic regions – Stavropol and Rostov-on-Don. Stavropol – gate of the Caucasus. In the Caucasus as sets an example of Nazran, new technologies are extremely demanded. Here the LTE traffic for the end of 1 quarter 2014 exceeded 40% of the general traffic of the mobile Internet. Karachay-Cherkessia will pick up "relay of new technologies". The network 4G will be started in Cherkessk until the end of the first half of the year 2014", – Mikhail Slobodin, the CEO of JSC Vympelcom makes comments.
In parallel with active construction of the LTE networks, "Beeline" continues to develop the standard 3G. In Astrakhan, Elista, Sochi, Volgograd, Stavropol and Krasnodar the HSPA+ DualCarrier technology allowing to increase the greatest possible speed of the mobile Internet to 42 Mbps is actively started. More than a half of base stations of Youzhny and North Caucasus region are connected today on this technology. The absolute leader here is Stavropol: the DualCarrier technology already equipped 98% 3G of base stations. By the end of the first half of the year the number of base stations of DualCarrier in the region will increase to 54%.
The volume of a traffic which subscribers download "Beeline" by means of mobile devices, continues to grow surely: countrywide growth made 123%, in comparison with indicators of last year; in Youzhny and North Caucasus region – 130%.
"Growth of the traffic consumed by subscribers is most active we observe in those regions where the LTE technology is already started. The absolute leader is Nazran. The volume of the downloaded traffic year by a year here increased more than by 6 times. In Astrakhan before start of LTE we predicted growth of a traffic by 2-3 times in comparison with average parameters of consumption for a network 3G – later half a year after start our forecasts were confirmed. Therefore we have all bases to believe that in Stavropol and Rostov-on-Don the new technology also will be demanded by subscribers "Beeline", – Youzhny's director and North Caucasus region makes comments on JSC Vympelcom Victor Pavlov.
