"Rostelecom" and IBM will cooperate in area of Big Data and cloudy technologies

"Rostelecom" and IBM signed the memorandum of understanding aimed at the development of cooperation in Big Data and cloud computing


The IBM East Europe/Asia and "Rostelecom" companies signed the Memorandum of understanding aimed at the development of cooperation in Big Data (Big Data) and cloud computing. In particular, "Rostelecom" and IBM plan to create the Center of competences for joint study of decisions in the field of analytics of data in application to problems of the telecommunication industry and the market service providers, and also developments of cloudy decisions and new services.

Opening of the Center of competences of area of Big Data and analytics is directed on support of innovative development of "Rostelecom" and will allow the company to use more effectively analytical resources, to optimize business processes and to increase the competitiveness in the global market.

To "Rostelecom" as largest Russian telecommunication company it is necessary preventivno and to react to escalating volumes of the processed information quickly. Investments into intelligence, development of a service component and improvement of control systems of the software can become the major factor allowing to accelerate introduction of demanded services, – the president of "Rostelecom" Sergey Kalugin speaks. – We are sure that large-scale cooperation with IBM will allow to create on the basis of the existing equipment and the software essentially new decisions for our users in the conditions of the modern fast-changing market".

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Sergey Kalugin, the president of "Rostelecom", and Kirill Kornilyev, the CEO of IBM East Europe/Asia.
