JSC Rostelecom
plans construction of new fiber-optical communication lines (VOLS) in the
Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to which 118 settlements will be connected. The
project is directed on elimination of "a digital inequality" in the
region and
will allow to provide inhabitants with modern telecommunication services.
The general
extent of communication lines will make more than 2800 km. New communication
lines will pass through the Over the river Western, Vilyuysky and groups of
uluses of the republic. Data input of lines will allow to increase
significantly the capacity of communication channels in such large cities, as
Mirnyi, Lensk, Olekminsk, Nyurba, Vilyuysk, and the regional centers –
Berdigestyakh, Verkhnevilyuysk, Suntar, Churapcha, Borogontsa, Ytyk-Kyuel,
Amga.
At
implementation of the project, inhabitants of the remote settlements will get
access to
modern telecommunication services.

company is faced by a responsible task to provide with modern telecommunication
services
the remote and remote settlements of Yakutia. Considering territorial and
climatic feature of the region, construction works will be mainly carried out to a
warm season, but we will use the best efforts to perform works in established
periods", – the branch director tells Sakhatelekom
Alexey Semenov.
"Rostelecom"
is recognized as the uniform operator of universal service in all territory of
the Russian Federation according to the Order of the Government of the Russian
Federation No. 437-r of March 26, 2014.
