More than 4 million households are captured by optical networks of "Rostelecom" in the Volga region

The macroregional branch "Volga" of JSC Rostelecom provided coverage with optical  networks more than 4 million households

The macroregional branch "Volga" of JSC Rostelecom in the territory of the activity in 12 regions of the Volga federal district provided coverage with optics more than 4 million households, thanks to active construction of networks on the FTTB technology ("optics to the building").

For the last four years the gain of the households in Volga federal district captured  by "optics" makes about 900 thousand annually. Placement of the equipment of communication in apartment houses comes from the principle of initial connection  of one third from possible number of owners of apartments. Having constructed  today for inhabitants of apartment houses of the Volga region more than 1,5 million FTTB ports, the company can connect more than 4 million households to the services.

The vice-president – the director of macroregional branch "Volga" of JSC Rostelecom  Dmitry Proskura: "The responsible relation to business, accurate work with suppliers  of the equipment and contractors, performing discipline and interest  of the management of MRF allowed us to reach such considerable results. The number of the subscribers of "Rostelecom" connected on "optics" in a year grew almost by 200 thousand. The majority of the regional centers and large settlements  of the Volga federal district are captured by optical communication networks  from "Rostelecom". This year we set before ourselves even more ambitious  purposes – we plan to capture optical technologies to 4,7 million households".
