The profit of MTS in Russia fell to 20%


The net profit of the MTS company in Russia in the first quarter 2014 decreased by 18,8% to 9,6 billion rubles


The consolidated net profit of the MTS mobile network operator on GAAP in the first quarter 2014 did not change in comparison with the first quarter 2013 and made 13 billion rubles. The president of MTS group Andrey Dubovskov reported about it at a press conference on Tuesday, May 27.

At the same time, the net profit of the operator in Russia in the first quarter decreased by 18,8% to 9,6 billion rubles against 11,8 billion rubles in the previous year.

The consolidated revenue of the company grew by 5,1% to 97,6 billion rubles in comparison with the similar period of last year. The consolidated indicator of OIBDA increased by 5,3% to 41,5 billion rubles, the margin of OIBDA made 42,5%.

The free cash flow in the first quarter of the current year grew by 40% to 34,1 billion rubles in comparison with the first quarter of last year.

The revenue of the operator in Russia in the reporting period increased by 5,4% to 87,3 billion rubles, the indicator of OIBDA grew by 5,4% to 37,8 billion rubles.

The total debt as of March 31 made 221,6 billion rubles, a pure debt – 145,3 billion rubles.

Besides Russia, MTS provides services of cellular communication in several CIS countries through the subsidiaries.
