The net profit of Rostelecom in the 1st quarter increased by 8%

Rostelecom in the first quarter 2014 increased net profit on IFRS by 8% to 6,9 billion rubles.


Rostelecom in the first quarter 2014 increased net profit on IFRS to 6,9 billion rubles. The indicator grew by 8% in comparison with the similar period of 2013.

According to the press release of the Russian national telecommunication company, the revenue reached 80,4 billion rubles, having increased by 1%.

The indicator of OIBDA made 26,5 billion rubles against 29,4 billion rubles for the similar period in the previous year. Profitability on OIBDA made 33% in comparison with 37% in the 1st quarter 2013.

The pure debt as of March 31, 2014 made 184,0 billion rubles. A ratio of a pure debt to OIBDA indicator – 1,7kh.

According to the president of Rostelecom Sergey Kalugin, the company continues to increase subscriber base of users of broadband Internet access and interactive digital television.

"We also managed to increase revenue and profit, to lower debt loading. Among important high-quality achievements it is possible to note end of the first stage of the transaction on creation of joint venture with Tele2 Russia, and also signing of two state contracts: on the organization of video surveillance behind carrying out the Unified state examination on 600 million rubles and on implementation of the large-scale project on elimination of a digital inequality for the total amount of 163 billion rubles", – he added.
