The first industrial introduction of RTLS system at the JSC Severstal enterprise is complete
The RTLS and AMT-GRUP companies finished the project on introduction of system of positioning and monitoring of transport and loading means for JSC Severstal-metiz


The RTLS and AMT-GRUP companies declare end of the first project on introduction of system of positioning and monitoring of transport and loading means indoors ("Steel wire shop 1") head enterprise JSC Severstal-metiz. The system is constructed on the basis of the RTLS technology and integrated with the automated SCYTHIAN system operating at the enterprise. The developer, the general contractor and the supplier of the equipment – JSC RTLS. Design of system is carried out with the assistance of the AMT-GRUP company.

The system of positioning in real time of RTLS is put into operation in gvozdilny shop JSC Severstal-metiz. The wireless infrastructure of system covers all territory of shop of 130 thousand sq.m and includes 146 base stations – 128 anchors and 18 locks.

Basic purpose of system – monitoring of the loaders working in shop. All 50 loaders working in shop are equipped with the tags which are specially created in the course of introduction of system for vehicles with freight sensors on a loader arrow.

At this stage the RTLS system provides the solution of the following tasks: control of speed of loaders for the purpose of ensuring production safety and control of use of loaders in the course of which the time spent of each loader for object, time of its work and an idle time is defined. At the following stage the solution of a problem of control of process of shipment of finished goods is planned.

For users – the staff of various divisions – 10 workplaces allowing to make control of system, to enter zones of control and to establish rules for these zones visually in real time are provided to observe location and movements of loaders on the plan, to look through history of their movement, to receive information on all cases of excess of the allowed speed, to form by the set criteria and to receive reports on excess of speed and efficiency of use of loaders.

Specialists of the companies carried out design engineering of all system, including fiber-optical routes and a network of data transmission for connection of locks of system to a local network of the enterprise. Besides, design of power supply of the equipment of system and designs for installation of base stations was carried out.

The RTLS system has ample opportunities and high flexibility that allows with the minimum expenses of time and means to adapt it for the solution of tasks of the specific customer. In particular, basic possibility of creation of system of monitoring of loaders on the basis of RTLS was shown to the customer a little more than a year ago. Less than half a year from the moment of decision-making by the customer it was required on development and test of a subsystem of control of freight on a loader arrow. On introduction of system year in full was required.
