MTS started a network 4G in Dagestan

The Mobile TeleSystems company started a network of the fourth generation on the basis of the LTE technology in the Republic of Dagestan


The Mobile TeleSystems company (MTS) started a network of the fourth generation (4G) on the basis of the LTE technology in the Republic of Dagestan. Also in the closest three months of service of a network 4G at a speed up to 75 Mbps thirds of the population of the region will be available.

The press service of the operator reported that the LTE network from MTS almost completely covers the capital of Dagestan – Makhachkala. The company continues active construction of a network and plans to broaden the territory 4G by September of this year, having included in it such large settlements as Buinaksk, Kaspiysk, Khasavyurt, Derbent. Thus, in the next three months more than 1 million inhabitants of the republic will be able already to use services of communication of the fourth generation.

In parallel with start of a network 4G of MTS in Dagestan continues active expansion of territories of a covering and capacity in networks of the third generation. The most intensive technical development is planned in mountainous areas of the region – Untsukulsky, Tabasaran, Buinaksk, Souleymane Stalsk where construction of a network has technical features in connection with a difficult landscape. In total more than 23 settlements of these areas, and also the villages of Babayurtovsky, Khasavyurt, Tarumovsky areas will get access to a network 3G from MTS. In total until the end of 2014 the quantity of the base stations 3G built for coverage of new territories and increase in capacity of a covering will increase in the region more than by 60%.

The Republic of Dagestan became the fifth region of the South of Russia where the LTE MTS network is started. Own networks of the fourth generation of communication of MTS work in 28 regions of Russia, including, Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the Rostov region, the republics North Ossetia, Adygea, Bashkortostan, Komi, the Novosibirsk region, Krasnoyarsk Krai. Until the end of 2014 the high-speed Internet of LTE MTS will appear in 74 regions of Russia.
