LTE: The first operator LTE/4G came to Sakhalin
"Vympelcom" the first of the Russian operators started a network 4G/LTE in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk


Beeline the first of the Russian operators started a network 4G/LTE in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It also became the first network Beeline 4G/LTE in the Far East region.

The network works in the frequency range of b7 2.5-2.7 GHz in a strip of 2х10 MHz (FDD LTE). Peak speeds can reach 73 Mbps, average user speeds according to the company make 10-40 Mbps. According to the company the covering "is provided to the most part of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, including Novoaleksandrovsk and Sinegorsk".

Beeline reports that following the results of 1 quarter 2014 the Internet traffic of users of a network in the Sakhalin region grew three times year by a year.

Line of subscriber devices with support of LTE which are offered by Beeline to the subscribers are more than 25 models of smartphones and modems Beeline. All devices work also in networks 2G/3G. To start using services 4G/LTE the subscriber should receive at office of the company the USIM card with support 4G. Replacement of SIM by USIM it is free, thus the existing number and a tariff remain.

In October, 2013 Mikhail Slobodin reported that Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is "the spare license territory of 2014". In December Vympelcom confirmed that Sakhalin becomes the region where the LTE network will be started during 2014. During 2013 75% of base stations 3G on the Sakhalin region and 90% in the Southern Sakhalinsk were transferred "to high-speed transport canals". In 2014 the company plans to continue to expand networks 3G in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Korsakovsk, Kholmsk, Dolinsky, Smirnykhovsky areas. Also the LTE network covering will extend.

For Beeline is the 11th region of Russia where the LTE network of the company providing services to subscribers in the mode of commercial operation works. Except Beeline, plans concerning LTE on Sakhalin were declared also by the MTS company but while exact date of start to me is not known. In March, 2014 on Sakhalin reported "LTE Union" about existence of any constructed LTE network. Whether there was in a look a network Beeline or there Rostelecom, started building now something and not to learn, probably. Anyway, but meanwhile the service LTE on Sakhalin is provided exclusively Beeline.

The other day Beeline also will start the LTE network in Stavropol and in one of regions. In total in Russia now the LTE networks at least of one of the operators LTE are present at 67 Russian regions.
