"I-Teco" modernizes infrastructure of the virtual environment of IT services of the East Siberian bank of Sberbank of Russia

The I-Teco company constructed the failure-safe distributed virtual environment in the East Siberian bank of Sberbank of Russia


The I-Teco company reports about end of the project on creation of the failure-safe distributed virtual environment in the East Siberian bank of Sberbank of Russia. Application of the NetApp and VMware technologies at creation of a complex allowed not only to keep the equipment which is earlier developed by the customer, having reduced costs of modernization, but also to make its work of more effective.

To provide compliance to the increased requirements to productivity, availability and fault tolerance of functioning of IT services, in 2013 the management of bank set the task of modernization of system of storage of virtual servers. By results of the comparative analysis of the proposed solutions as the most suitable the complex designed by the I-Teco company was recognized.

"Virtualization of disk space increased efficiency of use of the existing systems of data storage (SDS), having improved utilization of disk arrays. I want to emphasize that at the expense of a deduplication the minimum economy of disk space made 46%, or 3,24 Tbyte, – Igor Leskov, the deputy director of management of technical means and telecommunications of the East Siberian bank of Sberbank of Russia notes. – In addition, a number of additional functionality, including instant backup and recovery of data on all virtualized space was realized".

Within the project experts of "I-Teco" used the following innovative technologies and products of NetApp:

The NetApp Fabric MetroCluster technology for maintenance of high availability of system and synchronization of information on disks and in a cache memory of controlers at distance to 160 km. It allowed servers to switch quickly to use of data from any platform of a data-center without stopping of work of bank appendices.
The solution of NetApp V-Series for virtualization of disk space of the operating SHD of bank and realization of a deduplication of data, acceleration of reading/record and control of integrity of information.
NetApp Virtual Storage Console software products with integration of new opportunities of the decision in the modernized VMware vSphere and NetApp SnapManager environment, the providing functionality of backup and restoration.
The NetApp Flash Cache technology which provided growth of productivity of SHD both for virtual servers, and for productive databases.


According to results of testing, the developed decision considerably increased availability of system of data storage, reduced time of a response of appendices and lowered costs of modernization, having included the capacity of already existing disk arrays.
