Following
the results of 2013 the audience of the mobile Internet in Russia grew in
comparison with 2012 by 15%
In Russia actively about 84 million people use the Internet, and 10-15%
from them connect Network by means of USB modems and wireless routers.
Following the results of 2013 the audience of the mobile Internet in our
country grew, in comparison with 2012 for 15%, (in 2012 its gain was higher –
22%). Provided such data at the X Forum MoCo ’2014 Oksana Pankratova, the
director of research and the partner of AC&M Consulting. Thus, the analyst
considers, two-digit growth rates will remain and this year. And in general,
extensive expansion of audience of the mobile Internet will proceed until the
level of penetration of smartphones in it will not reach a level of 70-75%, (as
of the end of 2013 it was at the level of 32%), or 140-150 million such devices
in pieces.
Along with attraction of broad masses of new users of the mobile
Internet in the Russian market of cellular communication also growth of an
indicator of average monthly revenue on one user of services of data
transmission (ARPDU) was observed. It was promoted by measures of
communications operators for stimulation of migration of subscribers on more
expensive tariff plans – package offers. As the result, following the results
of 2013 ARPDU grew by 12%, and the operator proceeds from such services
increased by 30% and, most likely, will keep similar growth rates and in 2014.
Thus, as one would expect, much quicker than revenue of operators the
volume of a traffic of the mobile Internet in their networks continues to grow.
In a year it, on average, adds on 50%.
The highest growth rates of an indicator of ARPU from additional
services – 15% for 2013 were succeeded to achieve the MTS company, the
Vympelcom company (10%), and VAS ARPU gain shown for this period by the
"Megafon" company was at the second place, the analyst estimated, as
"modest".
In general, the total proceeds from the services VAS in the Russian
market of mobile communication grew following the results of last year by 17% –
to 268 billion rubles, and its share in the income of operators reached 30,7%.
O. Pankratova considers as the most probable scenario of development of
the VAS market in our country in 2016-2017 reduction of consolidated revenues
of branch of cellular communication. Thus 40% in its volume will fall on
services of mobile data transmission.
