MTS and "Vympelcom" thought up how to sell a mobile Internet
traffic wholesale: new tariffs will allow to divide it between several devices.
In the III quarter 2014 MTS and "Vympelcom" plan to bring new
type of the tariffs intended for collective Internet access to the market: the
big traffic can be spent not on one smartphone or the tablet, and for several,
the top manager of the company – the partner of these mobile network operators
told "Sheets". MTS and "Vympelcom" really prepare for
introduction of such tariffs, representatives of MTS and "Vympelcom" Dmitry
Solodovnikov and Anna Aybasheva confirmed.
Exact start date of sales, and also parameters of new tariffs they do
not call. According to Aybasheva, tariffs will be applicable both for
smartphones and tablets, and for USB modems. Solodovnikov says that in the long
term subscribers of new tariffs also will receive 20% of a discount for the
fixed Internet access and will be able to pay it for the uniform account with
services of mobile communication.
In Russia of tariffs of this kind while is not present, Aybasheva and
Solodovnikov assure. But foreign operators, for example at AT&T, have
similar offers, the representative of MTS speaks. The person close to this
company knows that the operator will start selling new tariffs in June-July,
2014.
Certainly, it is more convenient and more favorable to client to pay one
bill serving some mobile devices, – "MegaFon" thinks over development
of similar offers, the representative of this operator speaks, but it is
important to provide also balance of interests as client, and the operator.
"Vympelcom" now provides to subscribers of 30 Gbytes of a
traffic for access at the greatest possible speed in a month for 1150 rub (it
is the biggest traffic which the correspondent of "Sheets" found on
the operator's site). MTS offers 50 Gbytes for 1500 rub. After exhaustion of a
limit speed falls to 64 Kbps, and it is necessary to pay extra for its
increase.
Upon purchase of a big traffic, in fact, small wholesale the subscriber
can save – 1 Gbyte on a new tariff will cost to it cheaper, than on standard,
Solodovnikov describes ideology of new tariffs. For example, the general
traffic can be spent in common all family in which some smartphones and tablets
are used, he argues.
Situation in which one family member monthly spends less traffic, than
the limit, and another allows – more and is compelled to pay extra, are
widespread, the general director of TelecomDaily Denis Kuskov believes, new
tariffs solve this problem, but also, stimulate subscribers to buy big,
expensive packages of a traffic. Opportunity to divide a traffic also increases
loyalty of subscribers: new tariffs are interesting only in case all family
uses services of one operator, Kuskov concludes.
Opportunity to divide a traffic between devices in itself hardly strongly
will affect financial performance of operators, the partner AC&M-Consulting
Anton Pogrebinsky considers, but, he agrees with Lumpy, such tariffs – a good
way of attraction and deduction of subscribers: them it is expedient to use all
family. Such family tariffs are widespread in the USA and the countries of
Scandinavia, Pogrebinsky tells.

In the I quarter 2014 in comparison with the similar period of 2013 the
proceeds of MTS from services of mobile data transmission grew by 42% and made
14,3 billion rubles, "Vympelcom" – for 22% and reached 7,2 billion
rubles, follow from the reporting of the companies. The Internet traffic in a
network of MTS in a year grew almost by 40%, Solodovnikov speaks. The Internet
traffic in a mobile network of "Vympelcom" in the I quarter 2014 grew
several times, only in Moscow – by 3,5 times, Aybasheva assures. 42,3% of
mobile subscribers of MTS use the services connected with data transmission,
Solodovnikov speaks. At "Vympelcom" of such about 50%, Aybasheva
reported.
