"Rostelecom" and the government of the Komi Republic defined cooperation priorities


On May 26, 2014 to Syktyvkar the meeting of the acting as Governor of the Komi Republic Vyacheslav Gayzer with the vice-president – the director of macroregional branch "Severo Zapad" of JSC Rostelecom Andrey Balatsenko took place. Signing of the protocol to the cooperation agreement between macroregional branch "Severo Zapad" of JSC Rostelecom and the government respubliki* became the main thing the purpose of a meeting.

The head of Committee of informatization and communication of the Komi Republic Alexander Selyutin and the director of Komi of Rostelecom branch of JSC Alexander Khutsiev participated in a meeting.

The signed protocol reflects practical implementation of the agreement the current year. After discussion by the parties in the protocol it is decided to include the following items:

expansion of a multiservice communication network not less than on 29,8 thousand ports;
further granting universal communication services in the territory of the Komi Republic, including in remote and remote settlements;
ensuring interactive telecasting on digital channels of communication with use of the new SmartLabs platform which allows to provide a set of additional services;
development of complex decisions on implementation of socially significant programs: on training of citizens of advanced age of computer literacy; on ensuring technical partnership in part of the admission of a traffic for Internet translations when carrying out significant republican and federal actions; on scoring of mass actions; on the organization of work of free Wi-Fi-zones in eleven points of the republic.


"It is important that the protocol not "water", and those projects which will be realized in the territory of the republic with concrete indicators – installation of telephones, of expansion of access to the broadband Internet, social partnership of the company are described. It is really complex document. And the government of the republic is ready to help with the solution of the organizational moments at implementation of these projects", – declared during communication with journalists Vyacheslav Gayzer.

The vice-president – the director of macroregional branch "Severo Zapad" of JSC Rostelecom Andrey Balatsenko in turn assured that the management of the company will try to squeeze as much as possible the terms which are taken away on implementation of the federal program for elimination of "a digital inequality": "For the next years the list of settlements with the population more than 250 people in whom there will be a collective point of Internet access is painted. It means that we have to come to these settlements with a good communication channel. According to plans in the territory of the Komi Republic it needs to be made within five years, that is by 2019. But we will try to reduce as much as possible these terms with active assistance of the regional government and to make everything quicker".

* the Agreement in force on cooperation is signed in 2012. After that in 2012 and 2013 protocols to the agreement were signed. It additions which concretize development plans of communication in the Komi Republic the current year. On May 26, 2014 the Protocol No. 3 was signed.
