"Renova" refused idea to sell provider of the telecommunication services "Akado"
"Renova" refused idea to sell provider of the telecommunication services "Akado", the co-owner of "Renova" Victor Vekselberg told to journalists in a lobby of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday, reports "Interfax".
"We do not conduct negotiations (...) Decided not to sell", – he told. As it was reported, in 2010-2011 owners of "Akado" conducted long negotiations on an occasion of sale of an asset with some participants of the market, in particular, with JSC "Megafon". Thus they estimated an asset at 1,2 bln. dollars. Then the transaction did not take place because of high price.
The AYR TELECOM company which to the middle of last year reached the preliminary agreement on it with "Renova" planned to get "Akado" also. In July the Federal Antimonopoly Service approved this transaction. It was planned monetary, "AYR Telecom" was going to attract the loan of Sberbank for its financing. However the conclusion of the transaction was late, the agreement on an exclusivity of negotiations between "Renova" and "AYR Telecom" repeatedly lasted.
As a result all terms expired, and the transaction did not take place. As "Renova" and its partner estimated "Akado" for sale "AYR Telecom", officially it was not reported. The sources familiar with a course of negotiations spoke about 1,1 bln. dollars taking into account a debt (about 380 mln. dollars). Also interest to "Akado" was declared by telecommunication "daughter" of JSC RZhD – "Transtelekom".
Besides, management of JSC Mobile TeleSystems reported that the company sent to "Renova" inquiry for due diligence, however the answer did not receive. Subsequently MTS which is actively building in Moscow a high-speed fiber-optical network on the GPON technology lost interest to "Akado", told to "Interfax" the source close to the operator. "Akado" (the being "Renova of Media") – the telecommunication holding providing services of television, broadband Internet access and a telephony to corporate and private clients on the basis of fiber-optical cable technologies. The company includes the operators "Akado-Stolitsa", "Moskovskaya telekommunikatsionnaya korporation" ("Komkor"), assets in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Minsk.
